Heather Yakin: Judge's view of Newburgh leaves out hope

U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon called the City of Newburgh "the most pathetic place in the state of New York." When it comes to the part of Newburgh she's seen through criminal proceedings - pleas and trials in the gang murder and drug cases that have kept federal judges busy in White Plains and Manhattan - she's right.
