Saw Mill Gunshot Victim Accidentally Shot Himself, Police Say

A White Plains man who told Westchester County Police that he was shot during a robbery on the Saw Mill River Parkway on Monday has been charged with falsely reporting an incident and obstruction after authorities determined he accidentally shot himself, according to officials. Detectives have concluded that Juan Gell, 21, of South Lexington Avenue accidentally shot himself in his midsection when he was standing with a group of people outside a car that had run out of gas.
