Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Mount Pleasant and Valhalla last week: The Mount Pleasant School District is asking taxpayers to fund major renovations in the district, especially at the Westlake High/Middle campus which hasn't seen significant upgrades since the facilities were built in the 1960s and 1970s. A 19-year-old White Plains woman who survived a jump onto the Sprain Brook Parkway from an overpass on Tuesday is being treated at Westchester Medical Center.
