The New York Power Authority Board of Trustees, meeting in White Plains on Thursday, approved funding that will enable up to $3 million a year from the sale of excess hydropower to be used for economic development in St. Lawrence County. Originally, the 20 megawatts of excess hydropower was valued at $2 million, but that has greatly increased, NYPA spokesman Steven P. Gosset said.
