Orts was an avid fisherman and life member of the Hudson River Boating & Yachting Assoc and member of many boat clubs. He is survived by his daughter, Tammey Pastor of White Plains and son, Mark Orts of Ardsley, granddaughter Nicole Orts Swan and his sister, Elizabeth Texiera.
