A stiff, cold wind served as a reminder of the brutal winter we just left behind, but the Mahopac High baseball team pulled out a 4-3 win over host White Plains under bright, sunny skies Wednesday afternoon at WPHS. In the season opener for both teams, Mahopac struck first, with senior second baseman Lou Nardella knocking in three runs on a bases-loaded, two-out, double in the top of the fifth.
