U.S. Rep. Lowey Announces $3 Million In Domestic Violence Prevention Grants

U.S. Rep. Nita M. Lowey will announce on Wednesday, Oct. 1, that more than $3 million in federal grants have been fiven to local organizations to assist victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Oct. 1 marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Lowey will be joined by representatives from My Sisters' Place, Inc., Westchester Hispanic Coalition, Pace Women's Justice Center, Hope's Door, the City of White Plains, YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester, the Westchester County Office for Women, the Greenburgh Police Department and the Victim's Assistance Center of WestCOP to call greater attention to the need for assistance for victims of violence against women.
