Westchester's Edith Flanigen Honored As Top Scientist By Obama

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. White Plains resident and scientist Edith M. Flanigen was honored for her 42-year-career when she was presented with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Obama on Nov. 20, reports Buffalo News . The president awarded Flanigen with the medal while a Marine praised her "innovations in the fields of silicate chemistry, the chemistry of zeolites, and molecular sieve materials."
